Giampaolo Circles the Wagons, Leads Checkmate into Championship

Lake Placid, NY--Checkmate advances to it's second Masters II final in as many years behind solid midfield play by team captain Gregg " Blanket" Giampaolo and fellow-line mate Doug "Dougie Fresh" Derosa. They defeated a very a talented Brown State team by a score of 7-6. Dougiedid wear his trademark candy cane striped socks.  Onlookers believe it was the socks that distracted the Brown State goaltender which lead to a Checkmate 3-0 scoring run with just minutes left to play.

Checkmate will face an up-and-coming Altantic Sportswear team who knocked off tournament favorite Team Long Island.  Team Long Island lost 10-9 and struggled down the stretch.
